With more dedicated courts per capita than almost any US city and year-round outdoor play (with reasonable winter temps), Phoenix has become the epicenter of adult pickleball.
The big three courts
- Bell Bank Park — 44 outdoor courts, hosts the biggest ladder leagues.
- Pecos Park — 24 courts and the strongest 4.0+ open play in the Valley.
- Chaparral Park — the recreational hub for 2.5 and 3.0 players.
League vs. ladder
Phoenix's pickleball scene runs more on ladders (weekly rated challenge play) than fixed-team leagues. If you're new to competitive pickleball, start with a 3.0 ladder — you'll climb quickly.
Costs
